Full Itinerary
Your touchdown will ideally be in Kigali where our representative will meet you and transfer you to your accommodation. Depending on your arrival, you might be able to drive around the vibrant capital and visit local art galleries and monuments before heading over to your accommodation for the night.
After breakfast, enjoy a scenic drive through Rwanda’s villages and vibrant communities on your way to Volcanoes National Park, home of the mountain gorillas. En route stop by a Genocide community village, where some survivors of the 1994 genocide reside.
The community tour will leave you in awe of how these women were able to overcome their losses, by channeling their energy to farming and making artifacts as a way to earn their living. You’ll have lunch and enjoy various entertainments offered by the community.
Today you’ll get the rare opportunity of sitting in the company of Rwanda’s gigantic mountain gorillas. Hike the beautiful rainforest covered with sounds of singing birds and piercing sun rays in search of Volcanoes gorilla.
Once you’ve located them take a moment to sit in their glory and marvel at their existence. Many say that looking into a gorilla’s eyes is a life-changing experience like no other. After your hour is up you may have a picnic lunch in the forest and continue exploring or hike back to your accommodation and call it a day.
After breakfast check out and proceed to your final leg of the tour in Akagera National Park. You will arrive in Akagera National Park in the late hours of the afternoon, check into your accommodation, and head out for an evening boat ride in the lake, enjoying a unique view of wildlife strutting about the park from the comfort of your boat. Dinner and overnight in your accommodation by the lake.
Akagera National Park is a fascinating destination with a very dynamic landscape, it is surrounded by hills, beautiful lakes, and fields of rolling grasslands. The park has been through periods of wildlife reintroduction to make it the powerhouse it is today, the remarkable effort to reintegrate wildlife in this area is one of the great achievements that is not mentioned enough. Rhinos, giraffes, and Lions have been reintroduced at different times and now occupy the park in thriving numbers.
Your guide will take you for game drives around the park where you will get to enjoy different kinds of wildlife like Giraffes, spotted hyenas cheetahs, and more. By the lake massive elephants can be seen drinking from the lake. The park’s scattered bushes and long grass are where you might come across one of the several rhinos in the park. Lions and Leopards are also common in the Park.
Today you spend your final hours in Rwanda, After breakfast you drive to Kigali where you’ll be transferred to the Kigali Airport for your flight back home.
