Murchison Falls

Murchison Falls National Park is renowned for hosting the world’s most powerful waterfall. Approximately 300 cubic meters of water per second, which is comparable to 200 bathtubs filled to the brim, is channeled through a gorge that is less than seven paces wide.

Overview

Snow white fall of water looks magnificent as it contrasts spectacularly with dark cliffs surrounding the river, plantains, and elegant palm trees seemingly floating on the calm river water radiating a feel of paradise. These incredible waterfalls are found in Uganda’s largest National park, Murchison falls National Park.

Murchison Falls National Park

At 3,840 km2, it is the largest and one of the most enthralling parks in the whole of Africa. The Victoria Nile runs through it, its wide, white rapids flanked by riverine forest and rust-red cliffs. Safari-goers from all over the world motor across the savannahs and woodlands that straddle the river. Overhead, hot-air balloons float in the misty dawn, bringing a dreamlike atmosphere.

Murchison Falls National Park is best known for being the most powerful waterfall in the world. About 300 cubic meters per second, the equivalent of 200 bathtubs full of water is forced through a gorge less than seven paces wide.

Unique Experience

The pressure is so great that the ground trembles around it. The water then plummets 43 meters before flowing out toward Lake Albert as a placid river whose banks are dense with hippos, crocodiles, waterbuck, and also buffaloes.

As a result, this is one of the most visited National parks in Africa. It has iconic sights, wildlife, as well as uniqueness in landscape and experience making Murchison Falls National Park a top priority for all.
