Ruwenzori National Park

Overview

Ruwenzori Mountain National park covers around 1,000 km2. The park is found in the chain that contains Africa’s third highest peak, Margherita peak rising to 5,109 meters. The lakes, glaciers, and waterfalls make it one of the most beautiful alpine areas in the whole of Africa.

Ruwenzori National Park is famous for its mountaineering, trekking, and walking safaris. It is challenging yet rewarding to get to Margherita peak, the view at the top is breathtaking.

Fauna and Flora are not amiss in this beautiful National park. It hosts a variety of species such as the red and blue colobus monkeys, chimpanzees, birds, and many more. The park is very well known for its diverse plants and trees, the botany in the park is stated by many to be one of the most beautiful assortment anywhere.

Tourist trekking Mount Ruwenzori tend to sleep in their tents or huts that are strategically positioned, offering impressive views of peaks including Mount Baker, Mount Speke, and Mount Stanley, with each room containing either a double or triple deck, which allows one person for every single form mattress.
